I don't understand how anybody with even the most rudimentary grasp of basic offensive football concepts can even suggest that a Doug Nussmeier led offense start a short dual threat QB.
Calling Toney Treon 2.0 is inaccurate because Treon's high school team was the best in the country and won the Florida championship against big school competition, Treon was the #69 player in the country and the #3 dual threat QB, and most schools recruited him as a QB. Toney is a 3 star athlete out of Alabama who was not recruited by anybody (including UF) as a QB who is only getting Spring reps at QB because Gholson wasn't allowed to come in as a grad transfer, Jake Allen isn't on campus yet, we couldn't sign another QB in the class despite our efforts, and Luke Del Rio is out for Spring (and hopefully forever). Toney's profile is closer to Denard Robinson (only he's not nearly as highly regarded as an athlete) and that ended badly with Nussy at the helm.
I usually like Miles's articles as they don't necessarily toe the company line to the same extent that Zack Abadabadoo does, but this one is pretty dumb and if they trot out a short dual threat QB with Nussmeier holding the reins it is the definition of insanity.

“I think there are some key components for our football team that aren't playing for us right now. And we're very thin in some areas. And it is what it is. I'm not making excuses, that's just the facts, and it's real. I think we've got a good staff and I think that we've got a really good football team. They're fighting their butt off this Saturday, first of all, and heading into spring. And I'm excited about that. I'm excited about this Saturday and our guys getting out and competing again."
