Someone needs to teach these boys how to steal bases. Very poor base running caused 2 outs at inopportune times. But I will take the win! Looks like Tiger fans outnumbering Gator fans at the stadium. Surprising we don't have more there representing. Another pitching dual tomorrow.
But I am sure fans from both LSU and UF probably flew to Omaha. And over half seem to be older alumni that can afford the airfare, hotel, etc, not to mention take off of work.
LSU had won six times before, and their fans were talking a lot of smack on the SEC boards going into Omaha. They expected to win this one, too. Our fans had made the trip ten times and had nothing to show for it. Of course, my brother-in-law's coworker Joe was there for the whole CWS (no word yet on whether he slept in his car). He posted several pics on Facebook.
The game turned in the top of the eighth, when it appeared that LSU might steal the game. When they failed to score after having runners on the corners with nobody out, that opened the door for us to blow the game open in the bottom half.
Awesome CWS! Glad for Sully and the Gators. I would have flown out to go to the finals but my brother had a commitment ge could not get out of so we skipped it. I was very disappointed with Gator fan turnout but given LSU's history of winning 6 National Championships in baseball I'm not surprisedthey showed so much support. Coach Maineri is a class act and a great coach. But what I did love was watching the LSU fans streaming out after the 8th inning. It was like the beach scene from Jaws. Or maybe they were trying to avoid the fabled Omaha 10 pm traffic jams???

That didn't go unnoticed in my house either. Unfortunately, afterward I couldn't find the LSU fan on the SEC forum who predicted before the CWS that we would be "Two and 'que" (eliminated in two games and off to the barbecue).
