SEC
Florida 41, Florida State 14 - FINALLY. The Gators had 536 yards of total offense, with 254 passing and 282 rushing. The defense forced three turnovers. Feleipe Franks had three touchdown passes, the last a 38-yarder in the fourth quarter to put the Gators up 34-14. The defense held FSU to 1/14 on third down conversions. After taking a 13-7 lead into the locker room, the Gators turned it on in the second half, scoring 28 points. 36 straight bowl games. DONE. No losing seasons since 1976. DONE.
Mississippi State 35, Ole Miss 3 - The Rebels turned the ball over three times, while being outgained 420-189. Ole Miss did not convert a third down in ten tries.
Missouri 38, Arkansas 0 - The Tigers blew open a 7-0 game with a 21-point second quarter. The Razorbacks had only 187 yards of total offense, including 52 yards rushing, in a merciful end to a miserable season. The Hogs were 2-10 overall and 0-8 in the SEC.
Georgia 45, Georgia Tech 21 - The Bulldogs led 38-7 at the half after scoring 14 points in the first quarter and 24 points in the second. The Yellow Jackets were only 3/13 on third down conversions.
Alabama 52, Auburn 21 - Another case of the Crimson Tide sleepwalking through the first half and cruising after the intermission. Bama led only 17-14 at the half. The Tide's 21-point third quarter put the game away.
Vanderbilt 38, Tennessee 13 - The Commodores led 17-0 at the half and 31-7 in the fourth quarter. The Vols were outgained 467-242.
Kentucky 56, Louisville 10 - Another team closing out a horrible season, the 2-10 Louisville Cardinals, surrendered 604 yards of total offense to the Wildcats. Louisville got as close as 14-7, but then it was basically over.
Clemson 56, South Carolina 35 - Models of consistency, the Tigers scored 14 points in each of the four quarters. The Gamecocks scored the first seven points of the game, but didn't score again until Clemson had scored 21. They trailed by as much as 49-21. A total of 1,344 yards of total offense. The Gamecocks had 510 yards passing out of 600 yards of total offense.
Texas A&M 74, LSU 72, 7OT - Both teams appeared to have the game essentially won at different points in regulation. The Aggies led 24-17 at the end of the third quarter. LSU scored twice in the fourth quarter to take a 31-24 lead with time running out. A 19-yard touchdown pass as time expired tied the game for A&M. With this many overtimes, I hesitate to review game stats.
National games
Oklahoma 59, West Virginia 56 - Will Grier threw for 539 yards and four touchdowns - and it wasn't enough. Part of the reason is that the Sooners' much maligned defense scored two touchdowns of their own on fumble returns of ten and 48 yards. The latter accounted for Oklahoma's last points with 9:58 remaining. The Mountaineers answered with a touchdown with 4:20 remaining, but they did not recover the onside kick. The teams combined for 1,372 yards of total offense. The Sooners get a chance to avenge their only loss of 2018 against Texas in the Big 12 title game.
Washington 28, Washington State 15 - Played in a driving snowstorm. Both teams turned the ball over three times. The Huskies outgained the Cougars 487-237. Chris Petersen is 5-0 in Apple Cup games. The Huskies now face Utah in the Pac 12 championship game. The news before the game was about the overturning of a bus carrying members of the Washington marching band to the game at Pullman. More than 40 people were injured, but fortunately none seriously.
Central Florida 38, South Florida 10 - Not nearly the hype that last year's game got. The Bulls scored three points in the first half and seven in the second. The Golden Knights had 391 yards rushing.
Texas 24, Kansas 17 - After not scoring at all in the first three quarters, the Jayhawks put together a 17-point fourth quarter run to create a few sweaty brows in Austin. There was one yard of difference in total offense between the two teams. Texas will play Oklahoma in the Big 12 championship game.
Iowa 31, Nebraska 28 - Scott Frost finished his first season in Lincoln at 4-8. Nebraska tied the game at 28 in the fourth quarter after Iowa appeared to have it put away, leading 28-13 in the third quarter. A 41-yard field goal as time expired won it for the Hawkeyes.
Ohio State 62, Michigan 39 - The Wolverines were presumed to be a lock for the college football playoff. This changes everything. The Buckeyes had 567 yards of total offense against a defense that was supposed to overmatch their offensive line. The Buckeyes led 24-19 at the half. Perhaps the dagger came in the third quarter with Ohio State up 27-19. The Buckeyes blocked a punt and returned it 33 yards for a touchdown, and the rout was on. The Buckeyes now face Northwestern in the Big Ten championship game.
North Carolina State 34, North Carolina 28, OT - Crazy things sometimes happen in rivalry games. The 7-3 Wolfpack and the 2-8 Tarheels squared off in a game that was close throughout. No team led by more than eight points (NC State, 21-13 in the third quarter). UNC took the lead for the first time at 28-21 with 9:29 remaining, but NC State tied it with 6:00 left.
Wake Forest 59, Duke 7 - Didn't see this coming. The Demon Deacons scored in double digits every quarter, leading 31-7 at the half. They outgained the Blue Devils 517-251.

Virginia Tech 34, Virginia 31, OT - The Hokies led 14-0 at the half. After the Cavaliers took a 31-24 lead in the fourth quarter, the Hokies recovered a fumble in the end zone to tie it with 1:51 remaining.
Arizona State 41, Arizona 40 - Another crazy rivalry game. The Wildcats appeared to have this game wrapped up, leading 40-21 after three quarters. The Sun Devils scored what turned out to be the winning points with 3:08 remaining. Arizona missed a potential game winning field goal with 11 seconds remaining.
Minnesota 37, Wisconsin 16 - Remember when the Badgers were considered to be a contender for the playoffs? The Golden Gophers won the Paul Bunyan Axe for the first time in 15 years and became bowl eligible - in Madison.
Notre Dame 24, Southern California 17 - The Fighting Irish are apparently going to skate into the playoff after beating a 5-7 team by seven points.
UNLV 34, Nevada 29 - From the "blind dog finds a bone" department. The Wolf Pack took a 20-0 lead after one quarter, but led only 26-21 at the half. A three-yard touchdown run with 2:34 remaining wiped out a 29-28 deficit for the Rebels. Going into the game, Nevada was 7-4 and UNLV was 3-8.
Utah 35, Brigham Young 27 - The Utes appeared to be all but dead, trailing 20-0 at the half and 27-7 with 5:28 remaining in the third quarter. They scored a touchdown with 40 seconds remaining in the third quarter to cut the lead to 27-14, then went on a 21-0 run in the fourth quarter. They scored a touchdown with 3:02 left to lead 28-27, and then the clincher with 1:43 remaining.
Stanford 49, UCLA 42 - The Bruins may have finished the season at 3-9, but they ended in entertaining fashion. They had 528 yards of total offense, including 466 yards passing. Boise State 33, Utah State 24 - That rarest of events, a Mountain West Conference game between two top 25 teams. The Aggies trailed 26-24 with 3:12 remaining. The Broncos scored a touchdown with four seconds left to clinch it.
