The SEC has already released next year's schedule. For those hoping that we don't have a game with a culinary school, you're going to be disappointed.
SEP 02 - at Utah 11-24 SEP 09 - McNeese 49-7 SEP 16 - Tennessee 29-16 SEP 23 - Charlotte SEP 30 - at Kentucky OCT 07 - Vanderbilt OCT 14 - at South Carolina OCT 28 - Georgia (Jacksonville) NOV 04 - Arkansas NOV 11 - at LSU NOV 18 - at Missouri NOV 25 - Florida State

I think we lose to Utah next year, assuming Cam Rising is still playing QB for them, but get back at both UK and UT. 9-3 or 10-2 with the only other losses to UGA and possibly LSU.

Was thinking, we've played some real quality QBs this year, Rising at Utah, Levis at UK, and Hooker at UT. Still have the kid at UGA and Rattler at SC to contend with, though he throws a lot of picks.

Still have the kid at UGA and Rattler at SC to contend with, though he throws a lot of picks. Well Bennett was Bennett, with virtually every player on his O better than the opposing player on our D. So he looked good, but he don't impress me much. Rattler looked Rattled and was a non-factor. So out of the 5 QBs I expected to be tough, we beat 2 of them. Of course, it's way more than the QB, but you have to overcome the QB to win ball games. Edit: didn't know we'd get embarrassed by the FSU QB's legs. Kid was off the hook and the defense didn't seem to know what to do, like put a spy on him or something silly like that. Oh well.

On second thought, this is kool-aid drinking BS. My pendulum just swung to another 6-6 season, pretty much losing to almost every decent team we play. I still think CBN is doing a lot of things right, but those things do not include managing an SEC level offense, nor calling out one of the worst defenses in the country. That's where we are right now. 6-6.

Year two should have improvements across the board if you have the right coach. If not we need to start looking again. Not looking to start playing for any kind of championships year two, just improvements!

Short assessment from a guy (me) who obviously knows a LOT about football (joking!). Offense - Napier needs a real OC who can call SEC level plays, not an OLine Coach/Yes Man with a title. Napier needs a real DC who can put together an SEC defense. Napier needs to be the CEO of all those people he hired. And then focus on recruiting - he's got a good start but you can never let up here. The age of NIL make this even more critical. That's all. Simple, right? RG

I can't argue with anything that you said. At the game Saturday I watched the Gators repeatedly run up the middle for one yard or no gain - when they didn't get stuffed in the backfield. I was thinking to myself, at what point do they realize that this won't work and go to something else? For instance, screens to Etienne to give him the ball in space. Jack Miller didn't play badly given the short amount of prep time and the long layoff (plus he had never started a game anywhere), and he seemed to be developing some timing late in the game, even though his receivers were seldom open. Our two best drives were in the fourth quarter. By that time we were already out of it. The defense didn't give up as many chunk plays as I thought that they might, but they didn't stop much either. No question that we need a new DC. Our performance on third down all year is proof enough.
Spurrier got away with being the head coach and play caller, but he is a rare exception.

Well last year i was completely off on my prediction of 10-2 (WTF was i thinking smh) so here's my 2023 prediction.
SEP 02 - at Utah- Win, Fla has all offseason to prepare for this game and the Utah QB will have a knee full of jello IF he plays.
SEP 09 - McNeese- Win, Squash Match
SEP 16 - Tennessee- Win, Very close game but Fla D will be slightly improved and JMilton isn't HHooker.
SEP 23 - Charlotte- Win, Squash Match
SEP 30 - at Kentucky- Loss, They don't have an entire offseason to prepare like Utah. The new KY Qb is decent and their Defense will be good.
OCT 07 - Vanderbilt- Win, Napier and Fla will make a point to crush Vandy after last year's loss, which is still pathetic.
OCT 14 - at South Carolina- Loss, SC will be out for blood after last years game
OCT 28 - Georgia (Jacksonville)- Loss, Enough said
NOV 04 - Arkansas, Loss, This will be the game we all think Fla will win and they lay an egg bc Fla is not back yet and Ark has a good QB and OL.
NOV 11 - at LSU- Loss, LSU might actually be the SEC favorites this season considering how much GA lost to the draft the past 2 seasons.
NOV 18 - at Missouri- Win, Mizzou is not good and Fla should be ready to finish strong
NOV 25 - Florida State- Win, Should've won last year's game if not for the 3rd qtr play calling and a no call facemask by the Noles on the last play of the game. FSU was a good team last year but nothing special and very fortunate in their two wins vs the SEC (Fla and LSU) and beat a 6-6 OU team for the bowl game.
so a grueling 7-5 with 2 of those wins being vs FCS schools and another vs Vandy.

I don't really disagree much but I feel like the Utah game is an L. That's a quality PAC team at home, at altitude. We have to *quickly* get back to beating Vandy (of course), Kentucky and Tennessee (both improved while Gators declined). RG

I think we get thumped by Utah, Mertz might get hurt so we'll have Jack Miller who has Graham Mertz like ability. Utah led the Pac 12 in sacks last year and won the conference by knocking Caleb Williams around. I think FSU is a loss, they may have something to play for and as much as I'd love to play spoiler in the swamp I just don't see it. They're better at every position other than RB and #1 CB, and I don't know that it's particularly close. I think we win: the 2 cupcakes, Vandy and Mizzou. I think we lose: UGA (21.5 pt. dog), Utah (8.5 down from 10), LSU (16.5), FSU (9.5), I'm tempted to throw an L at Tennessee (7.5 dog) but like SFG I'm not a huge believer that last year wasn't a one-off, so I'm throwing it in the swing game pile. So you've got:
Tennessee, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Arkysaw in the toss up pile. Gun to my head we beat Arkansas (at home) and USCe, but we like to win 1-2 that we shouldn't and lose 1-2 that we should win. Either way I can definitely see where the 5.5 O/U comes from.

If anyone wants to see what Utah became after we played them, I suggest going to YouTube and looking at the highlight video of last year's Pac 12 championship game. USC started out like they were going to blow Utah out of the stadium, scoring touchdowns on their first two drives and eventually leading 17-3. Utah clamped down in the second quarter, and USC only scored seven points the rest of the way while Utah scored seven times, six of them touchdowns. I believe that Utah blows us out. They are a quality team and they have not forgotten last year in the Swamp.

I have heard from some who have made the trip that Utah fans can be brutal on opposing fans. I choose not to drop the cash to watch us get blown out.

I just mentioned it because at the top of this thread it still says Sep 2. I'm surprised about Utah fans though. I guess they are the bad boys, as compared to BYU?
