According to multiple sources, Anthony Richardson has left the team. Given Jalen Kitna's legal difficulties, I am left to wonder who will run the offense for whatever bowl game that the Gators wind up playing in.

I can't find anything confirming this yet.

I also didn't see any true confirmation, but while I was looking did see this (and it mirrors other articles that say the same thing albeit to a lessor degree), which is probably all but confirmation that he's gone: 6) Carolina Panthers: Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida Alright, time to get weird. Anthony Richardson can chuck a pigskin better than any quarterback in the country right now. Add in freakish athleticism and you’ve got arguably the most potential of anyone in this draft class. MORE: NFL Draft News & Rumors With Tony Pauline What’s the catch? Consistency. If a team’s drafting him in the top 10, they’re betting on potential. At this point, this wouldn’t be the worst thing for Carolina to do. After all, the Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold experiment isn’t exactly thriving. Source: www.profootballnetwork.com/2023-nfl-mock-draft-anthony-richardson-jumps-c-j-stroud-in-the-top-10/Thing is all of that is true. I've got season tickets to the Falcons and my PSLs give me right of first refusal to any college game at Mercedes Benz so I'll be at the SECCG (on the LSU side but I hate Brian Kelly so much I don't know if I can root for them) and then the semi-final. Seats are good enough that the only better view is from the sideline. The only guy who has comparable arm strength that I've seen so far is Justin Herbert. Haven't seen Evans or Mahomes, have seen Lawrence and Fields and they're not on the same level. Bryce or Stroud will probably be the first pick, physically Richardson dwarves them, has a stronger arm, just as good a release (his footwork sucks but NFL guys think they can fix a lot more than that), and is significantly faster. What's also true is it would be a horrible decision for him to go pro. If he went to Carolina or someplace similar they will rush him, he'll struggle, and to date he has not shown any ability to overcome adversity. He seems to have a little bit of pouter to him, but I'll reserve judgment since I don't know how bad his injuries have been or that all of them are reported. The best thing that could happen to him if he declares is to fall into the 2nd day to a team with an established veteran and actually receive some coaching for another 2 years. It's too early to tell whether Napier can develop QBs at this level, and Mullen, while overrated, could do a decent job when he was engaged, but obviously he wasn't engaged with A/R or he would have had his growing pains a year ago. He should come back to school. I'd like it to be for us, but either way he should play another year of college football. If/when he declares I hope he does it sooner than later because there's no point in playing him in the bowl game or even the practices. Give Miller the snaps, if he sucks it's an advertisement for limited competition at an SEC school for the guys in the transfer portal, if he hits you can say "look what I did."

There is still nothing to confirm what was apparently a premature report. If I see him on the 17th, I will know that he is staying, I suppose.

I mean I don’t think anyone really believed he would stay and risk injury when projected to go as high as he is. I wish him well.

This means that I am about to go to a game with the offense run by a quarterback who hasn't taken a snap all season. What could go wrong?

What else could go wrong? Raider Dec. 18 game got flexed so LV Bowl start time pushed back to 11:30 am.

It would be good for us to get a look at Jack Miller

Bad for immediate success but probably good for the program to get a fresh start next season. Not sure who steps in as QB1, but let’s hope he’s not a pederast.

Based on past play calling it's a flip of the coin of what offense they run. And now that key positions will have newbies starting who knows what we will see.

I'd also ask him how many carries he wants and use him in the passing game for the first time all season. Crazy right?

Hear me out: Etienne in the Wildcat. I like it. I'd also ask him how many carries he wants and use him in the passing game for the first time all season. Crazy right? Oh yeah I totally forgot you can throw to the RBs. Groundbreaking stuff! That’s the problem I had with the offensive plan all season: there didn’t seem to be any kind of plan or strategy at all most of the time. As soon as something got results it was abandoned. What about putting Johnson and Etienne on the field at the same time and motion one of them out to make defenses adjust? But why bother when you can just line up and run it straight ahead. I’m going to give Napier a pass this season but he is going to have to get much better before I’m sold on his “style” of football. It’s boring and predictable and most importantly it did not result in a lot of winning. Boring is fine with me if we’re winning 10 games a year.
