The bad news is that with one exception none of these guys would have been drafted nearly as high or maybe at all based on their stats/performance which means that the nfl has basically no regard for the coaching, playcalling, and/or development during their time at UF.
The good news is that the one exception was Torrence who actually went later than expected based on his performance, so the nfl feels like he’s more of a finished product. He’s the one guy who the current staff had for more than 9 months.
It ain’t much but it’s something.

One of Burney's cousins plays for the Raiders. The local paper ran a story about the two of them possibly playing together.

5th most people drafted, and had 3-4 Torrence, Dean, Gourriage, Cox who were close and signed as UDFA. That's wild. gatorswire.usatoday.com/2023/05/07/florida-football-nfl-draft-espn-sec-coaches-recap/“It’s an interesting situation to study,” an SEC coordinator said. “You can say coaching or whatever you want, but Napier at Lafayette was a phenomenal coach. Are there other factors that don’t allow a team like that to win? … How do you have three guys drafted off a defense that was one of the worst in the country?” I don't know if interesting is the first word that pops into my head, but it's a fair question and one that should be asked for sure if the performance is similar or worse next year. Given that the O/U win total is 5.5 and the 5 games they've released we are 10.5 dog, 7.5 home dog, 16.5 dog, 21.5 neutral site dog, 9.5 home dog it's certainly possible if not probable. I'm hoping the simplest answer: it's a lot easier to be a "phenomenal coach" in the Sunbelt than the SEC, is not also the correct one, but if it is we need to call a spade a spade and start looking for a viable answer. The process almost has to start by firing the AD which should have happened 2-3 losing seasons and harassment scandals ago.

I don't know what it is about this university overrating the man in the AD chair, but it has been going on for decades. Incompetence abounds.
