Next up, Mel Tucker.
Why is it always the Big Ten?

Pat Fitzgerald has sued Northwestern for wrongful termination. I see this as nothing more than a face saving gesture that has zero chance of succeeding.
Mel Tucker's lawyer has sent a lengthy list of "new facts" to Michigan State. This also won't succeed.

It started early, but it looks like it might be a slow year for the Carousel. Some warm seats out there, but not so many hot hot ones.

Off the top of my head, I can't think of a lot of coaches in deep trouble. We had a very long list of firings last year, which means that there are a lot of first year head coaches in various locations. You don't get fired in your first year unless you're Urban Meyer trying to treat the NFL like an extension of college. We may have a historically short list this year.

Might could put Beamer on there because that was a bad loss. Jimbo may very well be a dead man walking. Pittman is in some trouble. Mario may stupid himself right into the fire. Yeah a coach should never ever do that. Even if the players did play poorly. That’s how you lose your locker room right there.

I like how he tried (it was weak, but he tried) to save it at the end. "We have to coach better blah blah blah". But there was no saving it. When someone shows you they're an asshat, you tend to believe them. Recruiting just got a little easier for the rest of the region. RG

That is the post-game press conference equivalent of Mario failing to take a knee. Both guys should be on the hot seat because I don't know that there's any coming back from that. He's trying though: www.si.com/college/southcarolina/football/shane-beamer-clarifies-opening-comments-from-post-game-presser-after-loss-to-florida-gators"Anybody that has covered this program and knows me knows that I have always come into those post-game press conferences after a poor performance and saying, you know, something along the lines of 'I didn’t do a good enough job coaching and ultimately it’s on me and I’m responsible.' That has always been the case and last night was no different," Beamer explained. "My frustrations last night were the fact that we were in position to make those plays and we didn’t make them and ultimately that’s on us as coaches for not having our guys, starting with me as the head football coach, not having our guys in, not just in position to make those plays, but getting it done." That is Napier-esque. If I'm an agent for a coach I'd have a strict policy that as soon as the phrase "Anybody who knows me/the program/my style/" someone pulls a fire alarm because some stupid shit is about to be thrown out there.

There are 77 million reasons that Jimbo Fisher will be back at Texas A&M. And that is only for Fisher. It doesn't include the cost of buying out the assistants, or the cost of hiring new coaches from the top down.

I think with Dimbo it's when not if, the when will likely either be this year as the Petrino experiment goes down in flames or next year when Texas and OU come in and A&M is looking up at them in the standings.

Oh, I believe that Fisher is definitely gone at A&M. I’m just not sure that this is his last year, given the sizable financial corner that they painted themselves into with the ridiculous contract that they gave him.

It doesn't include the cost of buying out the assistants, or the cost of hiring new coaches from the top down. That aged well. I find it odd that they fired him after a 51-10 victory, but it is Texas. FWIW, I will not coach at Texas A&M for ten percent of what they are paying Fisher. It's a bargain, and they ought to take me up on it.

Mississippi State has seen enough. Zach Arnett is out.
Arnett didn't make it through his first season.
Greg Knox, who replaced Dan Mullen for the 2021 FSU game after he was fired, will coach the Bulldogs for the remainder of the season.

Oregon State was apparently expecting their head coach to bail. They almost immediately hired Oregon's DC to take over.

Looks like Stoops is staying put. I think he is a good coach. For Kentucky. I’m not sure he is a great coach who can get to the pinnacle. I don’t know why A&M would want him other than the fact he is white. I would swap him for RDB, but he isn’t a coach I would seek out to lead our program if given free rein to find a great one. I’m sure Stricklin would sign him in a heartbeat and brag about it though.

Stoops has been great for Kentucky. He should stay there instead of the high pressure job at AM.

If Stoops stays at Kentucky he’ll end up having the stadium named after him. He’d be crazy to leave there.
