"Sun Belt" Billy has never been more true than ever. All it seems like is Fla is loading up on Non Power 5 portal transfers, diamond in the rough OL recruits (just like Hevessy) and one of the most inexperienced Power 5 staffs in the country.
Is this why Striklin hired Napier without interviewing anyone else? Because he and his Sith Lord Foley love "Up and Comers" & "The next great HC" rather than proven commodities. Did Napier's vision of taking a bunch of non Power 5 players and coaching staff to learn on the job at the SEC level have SS and Foley drooling?
The worst part is, Fla hires a bunch of unproven/unqualified HCs (Zook, Muschamp, McElwain abd Napier) yet pays, extends and provides buyouts to them like they are quality proven HCs. Id be more accepting if they were lowballing these guys and just stating: "yeah were poor" but thats not the case, instead they double down on the worst of both ends (inexperienced yet highly paid).
Mullen was qualifed but any AD with 1/2 a brain wouldve asked for his plan for the program. When the answer was: "Im going to do what worked at MIss St", majority of AD's wouldve known that wouldnt work and not to hire him.

Why not eschew the buyouts entirely and offer Billy $5 million/year plus a ton of incentive bonuses? Were they worried the **checks notes** ULL coach making $2 million would say no to that??

Exactly. Thats been one of my same thoughts and concerns. As you said, what is a guy who is the HC at ULL (who no other big program at that moment was considering) say?....No? SMH.

You’re talking about the same dream team that brought us the “fly the private jet to Colorado and get our guy” plan. We’re always in a secret bidding war for unproven coaches that no other serious program wants.

"Nah I don't wanna triple my salary and take the keys to the Porsche unless I have a golden parachute on the back end! Staying with the Ragin Cajuns baby!!!" Like, dude, the tripled salary IS the golden parachute!

At least he wasn’t our most consistent offensive line………. Oh wait nevermind, maybe he took plays off and/or was on the fence and we forced him to transfer

Oh wait nevermind, maybe he took plays off and/or was on the fence and we forced him to transfer Yeah, we looked into it and it turns out he never really was offered a scholarship but was allowed to stay on the team due to a glitch in the system. One of our analysts caught the mistake and fixed the glitch.

Jaydon Hill now in portal. I read somewhere he wanted more NIL $ so is looking elsewhere. True or not, this might be partially why these guys all over college football are moving around. For example a fifth year senior probably not projected to be drafted at this point in his career, so next best thing is to go for more NIL. School loyalty is meaningless.

Yeah there’s going to be more movement with NIL money, but what really says it all is we had 2 guys that were considered 1-2nd rounders next year (you’re not going to win with only 2 but that’s for another thread), they left because they want to win and improve their draft stock because of this staffs lack of development and record. Napier is the first guy in the rivals era to not crack the top 10 even once in his first three classes. The three best recruiters on the staff and the ones with the best power 5 and/or NFL experience have all left. It continues to get worse. Meanwhile we don’t have an OC, have lost almost our entire starting secondary, I’m guessing Marshall will leave as well, and have brought in the kid from Penn and a bunch of guys nobody else wanted. We are officially a joke and will remain as such until stricklin is gone

Out of curiosity why was Napier considered a great recruiter out of Sunbelt? Hard work and hiring army of assistants? Not sure how that translates to SEC recruiting/closing.

The Alabama center who had several bad snaps during the season, including two on consecutive plays that killed a drive on Monday, has entered the transfer portal. Fits right in with our team concept. The only minus is that he has never played in the Sun Belt.

Marshall coming back and like clockwork lots of fans flaming him on social media. That makes no sense whatsoever, but nothing about the program currently makes sense. That's a kid with enough talent to have been a first round projection who could get back there, and is our most likely earliest draft pick in 25 other than maybe Slackman but by all means let's show our dissatisfaction.

George Gumbs is coming from Northern Illinois! The #36 Edge and number 476 player overall in the portal will be replacing the number 2 (tied for 1 by ranking) Edge and #10 overall player in the country. However, I have been told by inside sources (Internet sunshine pumpers) that he can play TE in a pinch, I have taken the artistic liberty to assume they mean blocking TE, which means he doesn't take plays off and he is a good blocker. So really this is a win. Also, Northern Illinois' mascot is a Huskie. The Washington Huskies are playing in the national championship, so he basically has play-off experience. Also, we flipped him from Cincinnati, now I know it only counts as a flip if the guy has signed a LOI and started classes, but my understanding is that only applies to players that decommit from Florida, and since Brian Kelly used to coach Cincy and now coaches LSU, we pretty much whipped LSU's ass on this one. Get used to it you accent faking son of a bitch. Also, Southern Illinois' mascot is the Saluki. Per the NKC:
Among the world's oldest breeds, the slim but rugged Saluki was the hunting hound of kings for thousands of years. Salukis are swift and agile sprinters who love a good chase. They make gentle, dignified, and independent but loyal pets. The beauty of Salukis has been a thing of wonder for thousands of years. They're slim and leggy, but very strong and perfectly balanced, like a great athlete or dancer. Males can stand between 23 and 28 inches at the shoulder; females can be much shorter. They come in a many colors and patterns. Their large, oval-shaped eyes are warm and intelligent. Salukis are highly adaptable, able to live and work in any climate. They're magnificent animals, but owning them comes with many special challenges.
Swift and agile sprinter who loves a god chase? Sounds like an Edge rusher to me. Big win here my friends. Big win.

www.on3.com/teams/florida-gators/news/gators-ol-richie-leonard-to-enter-transfer-portal/Might as well throw the guy who played more snaps than anybody. However, he's not really transferring, we didn't like him because he's a stupid dummy head and we needed to make room for the guys who aren't stupid dummy heads, I don't think we've had anybody transfer so far and I won't believe it until somebody gives me some solid proof. Also, soas and thusly whereas the process, we signed 3 guys who are solid and goodly and will dedicate to the evaluation and the consistency aspect in the class of talent acquisition on the offensive line plus a dude from San Diego State who is the real deal. And one of them played for the Unicorns right? And was the #2 prospect in Germany which is a whole continent, right? That's a deal man. What an epic shitshow. But at least there's unicorns. I fucking love unicorns.

And Salukis. Salukis are bad ass. I think that one of our 2 offensive line coaches should hand out stuffed unicorns for good blocks and our new Defensive line coach should hand out miniature Saluki statues for TFL. It's like a turnover chain for a team that doesn't get any turnovers. Offensive TD scorers should all receive either a Graham Mertz or Montrell Johnson bobblehead. Special teams plays should be celebrated with a high five and/or chest bump to an imaginary coach.

He was given a Suzuki bike to get around campus, and it collapsed.

He was given a Suzuki bike to get around campus, and it collapsed. Knowing Big Des he's gonna get right back on that bike. He's a hard worker who is really dedicated to his craft unlike those lazy non-blocking sacks of shit that Real Deal Billy had to run right out of the program for being fake Gators, taking plays off, and their inability to block. The scariest thing for the rest of the SEC or really the rest of the country, when a guy like Tarquin blocked so well and worked so hard that Riley felt like he was showing up the rest of the team and benched him leading to his re-entry into the portal, RDB with the steady hair is GOING BACK OUT THERE TO GET HIM. He's ready to be a real Gator. And it just so happens that his real Gatorness coincides with other non-blocking fake Gators being kicked to the curb which makes room for Unicorns, Salukis, and reborn Gators. It's brilliant and borderline diabolical. We're not even playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers. We're playing super chess whereas other teams. Good luck to those fly by night programs and coaches who were stupid enough to take them on. Looking at you Georgia and Ole Miss. When you're watching the Gators from your couch as we work toward our national title run just know that this is all going to plan.
