There may be a road trip in my future. The last time that I saw the Gators play in person, I was wearing a band uniform at the 1974 Sugar Bowl. It is 420 miles from here to Salt Lake City.

Mo, I went to the FSU game this year for the first time since the Jimmy Carter era. It was a blast and well worth the effort. I don't know about a road game but the home game atmosphere was amazing and a win against FSU was icing on the O&B cake. RG

It's real damn early to make guesses, but it's the Internet, so what the hell. Realistically, looking at that schedule, I think we're around 7-5, with losses to Utah, Tenn, LSU, UGA, and TAMU. Could be better than that (beating Utah and/or Tenn), but definitely could be worse. In all kinds of weather...

I don't think we will, but we could be 1-3 coming out of Sept. New staff's message and leadership could be tested early. In all kinds of weather...

I’m sure l could do a deep dive and research some of these teams a little more, but my gut says 12-0 based on these matchups.

All that matters is stomping our opponents on Oct 29 and Nov 26. We can go 0-10 the rest of the way for all I care.

After some double checking, the Utah game is in Gainesville. They play in Salt Lake next year.

I am already beginning preliminary plans for the trip to the Great Mormon North. Thinking about flying up on Friday and flying back sometime Sunday. It's an hour flight with loads of choices, and almost a full day on the highway (about 450 miles). Each way. I contacted a buddy who reestablished the Salt Lake Gator Club (former president of the club in San Francisco), waiting to hear back about what they might be planning (ticket block, etc.).

Heres how i see it
SEP 03 - Utah - Win, Utah has no film and Fla has plenty. Swamp in September will not be kind to Utah. I think Fla's OL and AR15 will be healthy and will get the job done. Defense cannot possibly be as bad as the past two years with TGrantam.
SEP 10 - Kentucky - Win, Like Utah OL & AR15 should be full healthy and battle tested. Even last year with Mullen checking out and EJones playing QB, KY still barely won. Im glad these two games are the first two on the schedule btw.
SEP 17 - South Florida - Easy Win, USF is USF
SEP 24 - at Tennessee - Win, Yes its the first big road test, yes Tenn is the offseason darling as they are every year. They've won once in what, 17 years? Fla will now be one of the most battle tested teams in the country after this game.
OCT 01 - Eastern Washington - Easy Win
OCT 08 - Missouri- Win - game is in GVille and like KY, Mizzou barely beat a 6-7 Gator team in 2021 whose HC checked out already and had EJones playing QB.
OCT 15 - LSU, Win - LSU is not as good as their recruiting rankings say. Billy Napier will circle this game on the schedule every year after the non interest from LSU.
OCT 29 - Georgia (Jacksonville) - Loss, I see a competitive game but barring S.Bennett handing Fla the game, i see a low scoring old fashion ground n pound. Take the Under. NOV 05 - at Texas A&M, Loss, I think it will be competitive but the atmosphere and TAMU's talent will prevail. I know this sounds so odd but i hope Maxx Johnson isn't the QB for Tamu as he's killed Fla the past 2 seasons.
NOV 12 - South Carolina - Win, Florida will be focused after dropping 2 in a row. SC is not as good as last years blowout game and Fla was not as bad as they we're that night.
NOV 19 - at Vanderbilt - Big Win, Vandy is Vandy
NOV 26 - at Florida State - Win, Napier will want to finish strong and understands the importance of beating in state schools for recruiting purposes (unlike Mullen who was good at the former but not the latter).
Truthfully it all relies on AR15 and his health. If hes playing/healthy 10-2 is very possible. IF he gets injured, season can come crashing down as i dont think JMiller will be ready ion 2022 to be a starter. Good news is Fla has a coaching staff that will hold people accountable and theres no more Todd Grantham running the most confused, undisciplined, soft and "Tweener" filled defense in the country.
Ill revisit this closer to the Utah game though

"Ill revisit this closer to the Utah game though" Hey sofla, where's the revisit? Any thoughts on changing your 10-2 prediction? I'm currently thinking 9-3, but this Kentucky game will tell us more. RG

Ill stick with my 10-2 prediction. 9-3 is definitely possible and the season can come crumbling down IF AR15 gets injured..... But ill ride with what i posted. Lets beat those Wildcats!!!

Well, didn't ever see AR15 doing his best Emory Jones impression nor how bland and poor the offensive strategy was. Some people show footage of a KY defender hitting AR15 very early down at the ankles and are speculating he may have gotten injured there. IDK, but what i do know is, Fla might be in trouble if hes hurt

IDK, but what i do know is, Fla might be in trouble if hes hurt There had to be a reason why they didn’t fun him. He tweaked that knee last season hopefully that didn’t get aggravated because I don’t think we have another QB that has taken a college snap.

He was definitely hurt. That, and the injury to Miller are the only reasons I can see for him going so vanilla/terrible for 2 games. It may linger this year but he was pretty dynamic in the Tennessee game. I'm really hoping Kitna can get some snaps on Sunday because he's our best hope at a backup rn.

I know Kitna played but how did he look? Couldn’t watch the game. Considering that this was his first live action, pretty well. The 60+ yard TD pass was dropped in perfectly, hit the receiver in stride.

I had to go to a thing, but what I saw from Kitna during the AR injury was pretty impressive. My wife said she saw his hand shaking on the first play when he put his mouthpiece in before the snap. Ya think?

I was relieved in what I saw from Kitna. I think we would be fine if he had to step in.

There are things i dont like about the offense but truthfully, IF Fla had just a mediocre defense they'd have a couple more wins this year. Its really sad to see how low Fla football has fallen. What is the last true big game we've won?.... GA 2020? As always Go Gators!

No big thing. All of us were thinking this at some point during the season. It was beginning to look like the Utah game was a one-off and we were headed for another sub-.500 season.

I still don't know what to expect out of this group from one week to the next but I do feel better about our long term goals. Something I have not felt in a long time.
