Florida 41, Texas A&M 24 - Despite leaving ten points on the field in the second half, the Gators won by three scores. The defense, which hadn't stopped much of anyone, shut out the Aggies in the second half while the offense put up 21 points to erase a 24-20 halftime deficit. The defense generated two turnovers to prevent A&M from getting back in the game. The Gators had almost 300 yards on the ground, including a 60-yard touchdown run by Anthony Richardson in the final minute of the first quarter. Richardson also passed for 201 yards on 17/28. A complete game, especially after halftime. A&M is one loss away from becoming bowl ineligible, with road games remaining at Auburn and LSU.
LSU 32, Alabama 31, OT - Determined not to repeat the mistake that he made at the end of the Florida State game, Brian Kelly went for a two point conversion and the win after Tigers QB Jayden Daniels ran 25 yards for a touchdown on LSU's first play of OT after Alabama had scored a touchdown. There were six lead changes in the second half.
Georgia 27, Tennessee 13 - It wasn't this close. The Bulldogs led 24-6 at the half and didn't have to do much else.
Kentucky 21, Missouri 17 - The Tigers' two turnovers didn't help. Mizzou took a 17-14 lead with 8:07 remaining, but Kentucky scored less than three minutes later.
Liberty 21, Arkansas 19 - The Flames led 21-3 at the half. The Hogs had two passes intercepted. Trailing 21-13 late, Arkansas scored on an eight yard pass with 1:11 remaining, but came up inches short on the potential tying two point conversion.
Mississippi State 39, Auburn 33, OT - The Bulldogs scored on a five yard run after Auburn missed a 38-yard field goal in OT. MSU led 24-6 at the half, only to see Auburn take a 33-30 lead with 1:05 remaining. State tied the game with a 44-yard field goal with 29 seconds remaining.
South Carolina 38, Vanderbilt 27 - Four turnovers by the Commodores killed any chance they had of winning. The Gamecocks led 31-14 at the half.
National games
Ohio State 21, Northwestern 7 - The 38-point underdog Wildcats led 7-0 in the first quarter, and the game was 7-7 at the half. Ohio State was held to 76 yards passing.
Temple 54, South Florida 28 - The Owls scored 38 points in the second half to break open a 16-14 game.
Michigan State 23, Illinois 15 - The Illini's stay in the top 20 will be a brief one. The Spartans led 23-7 after three quarters. Illinois scored first to lead 7-0, and then not again until early in the fourth quarter.
Kansas 37, Oklahoma State 16 - After getting routed at Kansas State last week, the Cowboys' Kansas road swing ended with another loss. The Jayhawks led 31-7 in the third quarter. OSU turned the ball over four times.
Baylor 38, Oklahoma 35 - The Sooners' three turnovers were likely the difference. Baylor led 24-21 at the half, and the teams traded single touchdowns in the third and fourth quarters.
Central Florida 35, Memphis 28 - Although the game was tied three times, the Golden Knights never trailed. They took a 35-21 lead with 4:58 remaining.
Washington 24, Oregon State 21 - A 10-0 fourth quarter pulled out the victory for the Huskies at home. Washington never led before hitting a 22-yard field goal with eight seconds remaining.
Minnesota 20, Nebraska 13 - The Cornhuskers lewd 10-0 at the half. The Gophers tied the game at 10 in the third quarter, and they scored the next ten points to secure the victory.
Texas-San Antonio 44, UAB 38, 2OT - One of the more entertaining games of the day. The Roadrunners had two-score leads twice, only for the Blazers to come back. A 38-yard TD pass by UAB with 15 seconds remaining sent the game to OT. Both teams scored touchdowns in the first OT to tie the game at 38.
Pittsburgh 19, Syracuse 9 - The Orange have dropped three straight after starting the season 6-0. Syracuse managed only 145 yards total offense and ten first downs.
Louisiana Monroe 31, Texas State 30 - The Bobcats led 21-0 after one quarter, but only managed a field goal in each of the final three quarters.
Georgia Tech 28, Virginia Tech 27 - The Hokies turned the ball over four times in the process of blowing a 27-16 lead in the fourth quarter.
Notre Dame 35, Clemson 14 - And one of Clemson's scores came late. The Irish put the game away with 21 points in the fourth quarter after leading 14-0 at the end of three quarters. Clemson turned the ball over twice.
SMU 77, Houston 63 - Imagine scoring nine touchdowns and still losing by double digits. The Mustangs led 56-35 at the half. The Cougars had three turnovers. Over 1.350 yards of total offense. NCAA record for points in a regulation game.
