Cure Bowl

Saturday, Dec. 17
Fenway Bowl
Louisville 24, Cincinnati 7 - This game was 7-7 about four minutes into the second quarter, then the Bearcats stopped scoring. Cincy only managed 127 yards of total offense and ten first downs.
Celebration Bowl
North Carolina Central 41, Jackson State 34 (OT) - The Deion Sanders era at JSU ended with an overtime loss. JSU went in at 12-0, and this would have been the first undefeated season in school history.
Las Vegas Bowl
Oregon State 30, Florida 3 - About as close as it looks. I had the misfortune of being there to witness every moment of it. Our offensive line got pushed around, and the domination was evident seeing it live. We had 98 yards total offense and six first downs in the first three quarters. Eleven penalties, at least half of which were false starts. Jack Miller didn't play badly given that his last action was a year ago at Ohio State. A blocked punt inside our ten set up a Beaver touchdown. A 40-yard field goal with 37 seconds remaining saved us from being shut out. Outside the stadium I heard some asshole singing the FSU war chant.
LA Bowl
Fresno State 29, Washington State 6 - And I thought that our offense was bad. The Cougars managed 59 total yards and five first downs.
LendingTree Bowl
Southern Mississippi 38, Rice 24 - After the Eagles took a 17-3 lead at the half, the Owls went on a 21-point run to take a 24-17 lead in the third quarter. Monday, Dec. 19
Myrtle Beach Bowl
Marshall 28, Connecticut 14 - The Thundering Herd led 21-0 at the half and built the lead to 28-0 before the Huskies scored. Four turnovers by UConn didn't help, although Marshall gave two of them back. Still a nice accomplishment for UConn to get here, given how bad that they were a season ago.
Tuesday, Dec. 20
Famous Idaho Potato Bowl

Saturday, Dec. 24
Hawai'i Bowl
Middle Tennessee State 25, San Diego State 23 - The Aztecs took a 14-0 first quarter lead, and the Blue Raiders scored 13 in the second to make it a one point game at the half. The two teams exchanged field goals in the third quarter with lead changes on both. MT scored on a 6 yard pass in the fourth quarter to lead 22-17, then SD added two field goals to lead 23-22. Wisconsin 24, Oklahoma State 17 - The Badgers built a 24-7 lead in the third quarter. The Cowboys had only 52 yards rushing.
Wednesday, Dec. 28

Sun Bowl
Pittsburgh 37, UCLA 35 - The Bruins scored with less than a minute remaining in the half to take a 21-14 halftime lead. Music City Bowl
Iowa 21, Kentucky 0 - All of the points were scored in the second quarter. Not much offense on either side, but Kentucky had two turnovers.
