Reports have emerged about unidentified fans making threats against Ohio State quarterback C. J. Stroud on the heels of Saturday's loss to Georgia in the Peach Bowl. My dislike of the Buckeyes is well known, and it all goes back to my encounters with their fans prior to and during the national championship game in 2006. I was also told by a bus driver in Miami that the Ohio State band was the rudest, most disrespectful and destructive group that he ever met, and he didn't want to ever see them again. Kirk Herbstreit, a former Ohio State quarterback, moved his family from Ohio to Tennessee because of blowback from fans for honestly reporting on the merchandise scandal at Ohio State while Jim Tressel was head coach.
I give credit where it us due. C. J. Stroud played the game of his life on Saturday, and he had his team in a position to win at the end. He left it all on the field. He didn't miss the potential winning field goal, and he didn't give up 18 points in the fourth quarter when the game appeared to be in hand. How pathetic must someone's life be that they are so absorbed in the outcome of a college football game that they feel inclined to threaten an athlete who doesn't deliver the result that they want.

Man both of those semi final games were absolute roller coasters. In the past those games have usually not been very close but they definitely delivered this year.

Iād also like to give props to Bryce Young and Will Anderson for playing in their bowl game despite missing the playoffs. Says a lot about those young men and the culture that Saban has built there. Neither of those guys had to play in that game.

I was at the Peach Bowl, both fanbases have their fair share of idiots but I think Ohio State does indeed take the cake. Now I will say that was maybe the single worst officiated game I have seen in person at any level, but I digress. My personal favorite was claiming that UGA players were faking injuries with 30 seconds left to play because somehow they wanted to stop the clock? It was the least logical thing ever. Also, blaming the QB when your coach plays for a 50 yard FG by a kid who has never made a 50 yard FG in his life is pretty funny. Ryan Day bitched out. Period. He tried to out-think the room and when his genius fake punt call (which would have been much better if he had disguised the formation and not had 12 men on the field). Then he punted on 4&1. It was classic playing not to lose. I actually said to my friend who is a bulldog, "y'all may be in trouble because he has to try to push the ball downfield." I underestimated the level of bitch in Ryan Day. 50 yard FG under that pressure when you've never made a 50 yarder? Top notch.

The last thing that Georgia wanted to do at that point was stop the clock. It makes no sense that they would be faking injuries.
Day was clearly playing for the long FG, hence the run to the middle of the field that wasn't intended to gain yardage. It was purely for ball placement. I feel badly for the placekicker. He was put in a nearly impossible situation.
