After this crushing defeat over TCU do you think Kirby should be thinking NFL job? He's not got much else to prove at Georgia. There are lots of openings for NFL head coaching jobs.

After multiple disasters with NFL teams hiring college coaches, I don't know how much appetite there is for it.

I did think of that. Just wondering if Kirby is the type who would be interested in building a dynasty ala Saban. Time will tell.

He’d be crazy to leave UGA in my opinion. He’s a Georgia guy building a hell of a legacy at his alma mater and he really seems to be enjoying it. He might get the itch who knows, but he’d be nuts to go anywhere else.

Georgia had 15 players selected in the 2022 NFL draft, including the #1 overall pick, and all that they did was go unbeaten and win a second consecutive national title.
This is what Dan Mullen was trying to compete with putting minimal effort into recruiting and coaching up three-star players, which is how we got where we are.

Kirby won't go anywhere, if he wanted to go to the NFL someone would give certainly give him a look, but he's at his alma matter and a college guy through and through. He doesn't seem to have any inclination to jump anywhere, and he could probably go just about anywhere he wants to minus Bama or a settled situation in the league. He's a problem because he's Saban but with actual loyalty to his school. I think he's a lifer. Our best bet is that he's too intense and burns himself out. I think he's gonna try to chase down Saban for National championships.
I wound up watching 4 Georgia games this year because I've got PSLs at Mercedes Benz and stumbled into OCP tickets, 3 of them I watched the teams come through the tunnel, the only team that remotely matched up with Georgia size wise was Ohio State. Ohio State was a Ryan Day away from beating them. That's what you have to do to beat them. Bama and Ohio State were the only two teams that had a chance last year and SEC fatigue and injuries kept Bama out. I said from the beginning Kirby is the only Saban acolyte who could out-Saban Nick Saban. That has come home to roost these last 2 years. It will continue if Saban doesn't make changes at the coordinator positions which he would've done mid-season in his heyday.

People can say what they want about the Saban mystique with recruits but his age is starting to make a difference. Head to head he is starting to lose guys to the younger more relatable Kirby. Saban now more than ever needs young relatable Coordinators that can help him sell Bama. He needs the Kiffin's of the world on his staff. Catch 22 is you can't keep those guys long. Things are lining up for the Dawgs right now.

The Arizona Cardinals have received permission to interview Smart for their head coaching job. I doubt that he takes it, but both Steve Spurrier and Nick Saban tried their hands in the NFL. Urban Meyer hardly bears mentioning.
