Not that Colorado ever fit in with the Pac 12, but this seems like more than that. The Pac 12 has already lost its two biggest brands (USC and UCLA) while adding nothing, while the Big 12 has added Brigham Young, Houston, Cincinnati and Central Florida to offset the loss of Texas and Oklahoma to the SEC. Word has it that Oregon and Washington have already been vetted by the Big Ten, while there has been dialog between the Big 12 and Arizona, Arizona State, California and Stanford.
It doesn't seem all that long ago that Texas and Oklahoma were reportedly within hours of joining the Pac 12.

It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world. The PAC whatever is really pissed at Colorado but it's a sinking ship. Each team doesn't get an annual easy win now, and a trip to beautiful Boulder every other year, but CU isn't playing around any more. Coach Prime may not be the second coming but he's putting some shake in that program and the PAC would have lost their patsy anyway.
BTW, CU sold out their season tickets in April, 6 months earlier than they ever sold out. And there were only 8 other season ticket sellouts, the last one being in the glory days of the 1990s during the National Championship & surrounding years. Love Coach Prime or hate him, he's bringing in the money.

Making things worse is the Pac 12's pending television deal. They are apparently planning to hook up with Apple TV - meaning that viewers would have to pay for a subscription to watch games on a streaming service. Without USC, UCLA or Colorado, good luck.

Latest word: Oregon and Washington are gone to the Big Ten. Arizona is in the final steps of entering the Big 12. Arizona State and Utah can't be far behind.
