"Big Des" has shown he's not serious about the weight issue. He's not a full time player and never will be.

"Big Des" has shown he's not serious about the weight issue. He's not a full time player and never will be. I heard that he came into camp even heavier than he was at the end of last season. He should be dismissed from the team to protect his health. Putting him through practices in the Florida heat can't be great for his health. I'm not kidding when I say that I wouldn't be surprised to hear that he had a heart attack at practice. It's a comparatively minor aside that this is a complete contradiction of Napier's supposed commitment to discipline and accountability.

"Big Des" has shown he's not serious about the weight issue. He's not a full time player and never will be. n.rivals.com/content/athletes/desmond-watson-213172?view=pvDesmond Watson came in at 350. Going into Fall camp I believe he was 449. 100 lbs. ONE HUNDRED FUCKING POUNDS. Now he's down to 435. And the kool-aid set acts like he is a contributor because he can tackle FCS running backs with one hand if they mistakenly run right at him (because he isn't moving). I think it might be impossible to ever create the atmosphere that RDB aspires to if you're letting that guy continually participate and/or see the field. I don't understand why he's out there. As far as Mullen's S&C towards the end of his run, our combine performances kind of speak for themselves. Trey Dean (4.75) and Rashad Torrence (4.72) were the two slowest DBs at the combine and it wasn't close. The 3rd slowest was 4.65 and 4th 4.63. I don't know how to quantify exactly how awful that is. Dean was a tenth of a second slower than anybody other than Torrence. It's preposterous. Fortunately everybody was distracted by Richardson so it shouldn't hurt us in recruiting, but I don't know how we don't take a hit with some of the DT prospects if Watson is playing ahead of highly regarded guys like McLellan and Collins at the end of the year.
