3 of each. No cheating:
"We did some things that I think were good on the repeatable front, but we need to get back and assess the things that we did procedurally and progress in that way right? But I'll say this, there are some things we're about to do that are gonna do some more good things after we take a look at things and get back to work."
“I feel like we’re in the fight and we made tons of mistakes. There’s gonna be a ton of teachable moments for a lot of young players, a lot of new players on our team relative to, the first thing I told the team after the game was execution wins. Just call it like, it’s simple. And I think that you know, if we do what we’re supposed to do at times out, it’s a lot more competitive game. You know, I think we contributed to that. But I think Utah contributed to that as well.”
“I would tell you the penalties in particular, are surprising. You know, we played really clean football, you know listen, the things that we can control right? Those are things that are frustrating for a coach right? Ultimately, too many of those in my opinion.”
"Well we just made some things more difficult in terms of the procedure deal. When things go that way, you know, they can be tough to handle with adversity, and sometimes it just kind of snowballs to where I think you've got to look in the mirror and ask what is wrong? What is with the system and the process? Right? And I do think the system helps with that as long as you're consistent and pay attention to the details. So, we'll do that one thing and then from there we'll do the next thing until we get there."
"I told the team, I think adversity presents a choice. You can choose character or you can choose to compromise. I think one thing I know about this group is I think that we’ve worked hard on building some intangibles. Already I can see that this group will respond the right way. I believe that. I sat in the press conference last year after we beat Utah and I said we have a lot of stuff that we’ve gotta work on. I feel the same way sitting here today but I also know, I feel like we’ve got a lot of players that will continue to grow and improve as we go through this year.”
"The big thing is the process. Is it sustainable? Repeatable? Process based? Consistent? Detail oriented? Does the scared money make the money? No. Right? So then you progress to the deal and man, it's what I call successful and BLAMO there goes the implementation of how we progress, KAPOW, consistently, and in closing I'd just like to say-----------------------that's a deal man. Right?"
Bonus just because:
“I’m committed to not getting used to [losing],” Napier told the press. “I’m not joking when I say that, you know? I think I asked the team yesterday, I said, ‘What motivates you?’ And I think for me, seeing the players get the reward from the work is motivating.
“But, it’s also just as motivating to watch them have to go through the difficulty of losing, right? Knowing what I’ve observed for a very long time, if that makes sense, right? So, sometimes as a leader, it’s not about me. It’s more about the rest of them, my players in particular.”
