If this game is anything but us running them over I’m going to lose my shit. What do you guys think about / expect tonight?

The only thing I can predict for certain is that we will find a way to burn two timeouts before the 4th quarter begins. Other than that, it’s a total crapshoot. One would think we will try to run the ball about 40 times, get Etienne going early, and hopefully open up play action so our starters can sit most of the second half. However, it is highly possible we do the exact opposite since we don’t gameplan based on the competition or our previous successes and shortcomings.

This turned out to be the game plan and it was executed well. So well in fact, that it got boring and I went to bed. This was total domination by a superior team, as it should have been. It's not great, because it couldn't ever have been great against that team. The only real trouble I saw was Mertz miss some throws early and he hung Persall out to dry on a completion, with a safety going head hunting. The pass was a half-step late and Persall paid the price, but he hung onto the ball. This week against the Vols will say a lot. We need to look like we belong on the field with a major college team because we haven't done that in a while. Taps mentioned it in another thread - Gators need to play well enough to not tank the recruiting class, and it starts now. RG

I have an admission to make, I have not watched any of the McNeese State game. I was going to DVR it but then I heard McNeese lost a home game by 18 points to something called Tarleton State University and I just couldn't. I expected to hear more about Big Des "wrecking the game," and less about the young guys so I'm taking the win and moving on.

Is it possible that Austin Armstrong is not Patrick Toney without the beard and actually watches tape? I didn't watch but given that he got a sack I'm going to assume Prince dropped into coverage less. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I'll take any adjustments whatsoever as progress at this point, no matter how obvious they may be. Trying something different is so refreshing.

I also got the answer to the situation that I raised about Jack Miller not playing in the McNeese game. He has been sitting out for the past two weeks with an inflamed rotator cuff on his throwing arm, and he returned to practice this week.
