Coach Prime and the Buffs are getting absolutely destroyed by Oregon. Defense looks like a scout team. I know Hunter is out but damnnnn..

They needed about 8 Travis Hunters to compete with Oregon's athletes. But it's good for CU to get past the hype machine and start to build something real, IMO.

I was really hoping the bubble wouldn’t pop so early or so clearly for a couple reason:
1) I’m an unapologetic Deion fan for going on 35 years because I grew up in Tallahassee during his prime and I can count on one hand more entertaining athletes from a pure spectator standpoint. Actually one finger (Bo). With that came something that runs contrary to his public persona somewhat intentionally, circumstances put me where I got to see pre- fame best behavior but even as Deion would big time every booster, media guy, and even loud mouth adult Nole fans, he would not do it to kids. He always had time, and if he didn’t he’d look them in the eye and apologize, and it didn’t matter if the cameras were on or off. Very much the exception not the rule in that regard.
2) best case scenario with hunter Colorado has the best player on the field (both sides of the ball) with the possible exception of usc/Williams. He’s that good. They usually have 2 maaaaaybe 3 of the top 5. If they’re lucky they wind up with 4 of 10, but here’s where the rubber hits the road in football: he’s lucky to have 6-8 of the best 22, and that’s the best it will ever be at CU. Honestly I don’t know that Colorado’s roster is any better than what he would have had at Jackson state if he stayed. And it won’t change, won’t have time to, the uptick in national attention and slight upgrade in facilities is offset largely by the geography. The only thing keeping Deion in Colorado is his ego, or if he was a random white dude from the sunbelt his unwavering confidence and belief in his process. I think we’ll know what we have or don’t have by the end of this year but harbor no delusion that we’ll act assertively if a change needs to be made. In fact since stricklin knows it’s RDB or bust he’ll fight change even more than usual. When (not if) Deion goes to a real school that recruits itself (particularly on the big uglies where he doesn’t have the huge advantage in the recruiting trail) it’s gonna be a tough combo to beat. Each time a real roster puts it on him (should happen 3-5 more times this season) our slim chances of getting him trend towards none.

I have total respect for him as an athlete but I think his persona or whatever you want to call it is garbage. I couldn't care less if he ever wins another game to be honest. I do like that he didn't blow a lot of hot air after getting undressed by Oregon and took responsibility though. I just don't like showboaters. People that have to tell you how good they are get under my skin.

Although bringing in Hugh Freeze is a little suspect because he's a look at me guy too with a history of less success and infinitely more outright cheating.

I used to hate Deion, and not just because he was Prime Time at FSU. I hated the flash and sizzle, but damn if he didn't back it up. Fast forward 35 years and he's grown on me, and not just because he coaches at a school where my son and half my money went. He seems very real to me, very genuine. That sounds weird but what you see if what you get, and that's genuine. You *know* he's playing the game, promoting himself, making tons of money, all that. But he's not pretending he's doing anything else. So yeah, I like him now, and wish him well. I'm sure he's going somewhere else sometime soon, as taps said, and that's OK.
