Montrell Johnson is still #1 on the depth chart and in your hearts. We've got stories about how he's gonna show LSU what they're missing. Meanwhile, probably the biggest win of RDB's recruiting career because he beat LSU and pulled Etienne out of Louisiana (with some help from Urban Meyer drafting his brother in Jax) will continue to be the #2 option. Trevor should should just stay in Baton Rouge and get a jump on his Heisman campaign for 24. There's not one thing that Johnson does better than Etienne on the football field. It's Emory Jones over Anthony Richardson 2.0 the running back edition.

How is it that a literal ARMY of analysts and whatever else he has are missing this. It’s really not that hard. This is exactly why Napier isn’t the guy. I’ve listened to a half dozen Gator podcasts this week and they all said it. Every single one. But the guy driving the boat has a better idea.

Who is Etienne? Is that the backup punt returner?

Who is Etienne? Is that the backup punt returner? That's him. He doesn't block well enough to be the starting punt returner.

I read an interview with RDB this morning. I am not too good with posting things on this board using my flip phone, but here is the part that jumped out:
Getting Trevor Etienne and Eugene Wilson III more touches:
“Yeah, I think every week we do that. That’s part of the plan, try to get the best players the ball. Trey and Trevor have been fantastic. Sometimes the defense can dictate where the ball goes, particularly in the throw game”
Have fun. I’m not sure where to start, but my first thought is this guy is a fucking moron.

Everybody in the evaluation and meticulous attention to detail will tell you that every team we’ve played so far has done a good job of keeping the ball out of the hands of people who are not on the field for a given play. They’ve taken that away so our hands are tied

LSU was able to keep it out of Etienne's hands for 22 of the 41 RB touches and kept Wilson from touching it for 2.5 quarters after the first drive. Gotta tip your hat.
Look Montrell Johnson is a nice player, he gets 8 yards where some backs would get 5. Etienne is a superstar and is a big play waiting to happen plus runs with surprising power. Those 5 yard gains for a normal guy turn into TDs. It's a similar analysis with Wilson and Pearsall, but at least they are different type players. I don't care if Etienne can't block a 5 year old, he should be on the field 80% of the time. It's never going to happen at UF so we've gotta hope that he likes keeping mileage off the tires and going to his brothers games more than he likes Heisman consideration, top 15 pick money, winning, and NIL deals.

I just came to this realization in the other thread, but we have exactly one player on our roster that would start at any of the play-off contending schools. He doesn't start for us and somebody else gets 60% of the snaps/touches. That is fucking absurd and if Etienne doesn't transfer he's a fool. A fool I will welcome back with open arms because he is a ray of sunshine in otherwise gloomy Saturdays but a fool.

I believe that Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Tennessee or Ole Miss would welcome him with open arms, and actually make him a focal point of their offense. Napier is a Zook-level idiot.

I see from the Missouri telecast that our quarterbacks coach is now slash offensive coordinator. Is this so Napier can say that we already have one?
