I'm going to stick to my original projection from this morning of 12 on 24/7 and 15 on Rivals. That was before I heard that McCray wasn't signing today. Which is terrible news to say the least.

As of noon SEC network has us at 4th in the SEC and 7th overall. We’ll see if it holds.

As of noon SEC network has us at 4th in the SEC and 7th overall. We’ll see if it holds. Hayes flip just dropped us to 12 on 24/7 and 15 on Rivals. Williams will knock us down even more, if we lose McCray this could very well wind up the worst non-transition class of the Rivals era. That's a deal there man. Right?

Williams flip drops us to 15 on 24/7 and 19 on Rivals with McCray counting towards the class. I wish Lagway had signed earlier in the day. As bad as I thought this would be, it's worse. Napier should be fired immediately. Well not immediately but 30 seconds after they fire Stricklin. Not hiring a D-line coach has to be taking a dive right? Right?

Lagway stuck. Can't question his loyalty. His intelligence on the other hand...................

We struck out on 2 of 3 Williams Just lost WR Izaiah Williams to A&M. Down to 20 on Rivals. We lose McCray and we are out of the top 25.

16 on 24/7. 20 on Rivals like STC said, McCray going to announce on IG at 5:45, gotta think that means he's sticking, but I may just be wishful thinking. Without him this will be the worst non-transition class in the rivals era and realistically since Spurrier took the job.

Damn, it wasn't earlier. While the Gators did hold on to five-star quarterback D.J. Lagway, who was being targeted by Texas A&M, Florida lost nine recruits throughout the entire process, including ESPN 300 safety Xavier Filsaime, who flipped to Texas on Dec. 18. Filsaime is the No. 42 recruit overall and the No. 2 safety in the class. The Longhorns were also able to get ESPN 300 running back Jerrick Gibson, the No. 34 recruit, who decommitted from Florida very early in the process. Texas flipped ESPN 300 corner Wardell Mack from the Gators as well. Mack is the No. 263 recruit overall and flipped in November. Florida also lost five-star defensive lineman Jamonta Waller and four-star DE Amaris Williams, who both flipped to Auburn. Waller is the No. 19 recruit overall and the No. 4 defensive end in the class. This is still a good haul for Florida, but it could've been a lot better, and the signing day process doesn't instill a lot of confidence given how many recruits almost flipped, or considered flipping, near the end. www.espn.com/college-football/recruiting/insider/story/_/id/39142538/college-football-signing-day-2023-winners-missed-recruiting

247sports.com/longformarticle/signing-day-2023-247sports-class-rankings-alabama-florida-texas-usc-oregon--223618151/#2331249This one is free although in fairness it was published before we fell to 16 in the country and 8 in the SEC. There will be another one on Rivals I'm sure, and any other remotely objective analysis will all give you the same thing. We may get Mincey who is McCray's teammate at Mainland which would probably bump us up close to the 12 I projected, but it's all so bad. The Napier regime has been an unmitigated disaster and he continues doing the same shit (see hiring a Defensive Line coach from Tulane who was an analyst at LSU when Billy was wrecking the Sun Belt). Hiring 2 bad coaches in a row isn't overly damning to Stricklin, but refusing to acknowledge writing that is clearly on the wall is a dereliction of duty. Every aspect of the program other than the facilities is worse than it was 2 years ago and continues moving in the wrong direction. Yet there's a very vocal portion of the fanbase that continues to insist on putting lipstick on this pig as we continue to go further own the drain (we stopped circling it a long time ago). It's really remarkable and sad.

It's not a good haul for Florida. It would be a good haul for a lesser program but it is absolutely not a good haul for a destination school or even a middle of the road SEC school, especially one with as much attrition as we've already had, and I expect more as guys jump to the draft because the development has been such shit. It could have been worse, and it's not really over yet, especially with the transfer portal and the top recruit who is being sold as a program savior (maybe rightfully so) looking at sitting behind a guy who is just finishing his 6 year joyride because he has no shot at playing on Sundays.

Losing Waller and Williams was way worse than losing the safety to Texas. Mc Cray is a huge win. We needed that big time

I guess I just have a poor attitude because everything I have been reading suggests we got everyone who wanted to be a Gator, and we don’t need the rest of them. After all, Mahomes was only a 3-star and Tom Brady was a 2-star recruit. And we have all seen how well RDB can develop raw talent… all the negativity on social media is destroying our rebuild.
Is Lagway going to enroll in the spring? I wonder what the record is for a top recruit entering the portal? Perhaps we could add another “first” to our impressive resume.

McCray is the one I could see in the portal next year. Postponed his signing party to let UF and Auburn play back and forth with the NIL money each was offering. Things don't go to his liking next year don't think for a minute he won't bolt for $$$ greener $$$ pastures.

Is Lagway going to enroll in the spring? I wonder what the record is for a top recruit entering the portal? Perhaps we could add another “first” to our impressive resume. His presser which I refuse to watch he doubled down on “if they’re on the fence we don’t want them,” then said that they were okay with attrition as if it was a plan, then insinuated that they had processed out/pulled offers on some of the guys who flipped, and then to top it off said “if you look at it we didn’t lose anybody from those position groups (meaning DB and Dline where the coaches were let go) was wonderfully delusional. So, you planned to lose 4 of your top 6 and pulled offers on kids who had been committed for 6-8 months in the last week was part of a plan? Solid. Clearly since it was a plan the fact that all 4 of those played either DB or D-line doesn’t count I guess. Also good call on forcing them to programs that not only had a better record but also a higher ranked class. That’ll learn em. Either Napier is an idiot or he thinks the fanbase is full of idiots. Quite possibly both
