Q. How did those changes affect this recruiting class? Obviously there were some losses at those positions in particular. BILLY NAPIER: Which positions? Q. Defensive back and defensive line. BILLY NAPIER: What losses at those positions? Q. Coaching staff, commitments. BILLY NAPIER: I don’t think we lost players at those two positions. ^ Phil SMAED *, but I think that was in the works prior to making that change. I do think that we were able to get commitments at those positions as well. So I think there’s a little bit of both there, if that makes sense. Ultimately, the position coach is part of the equation, but it’s not the end-all, be-all. I think this cycle probably proves that. We may have lost one player, but we also added players at those positions. Good question. www.gatorcountry.com/feature/everything-billy-napier-said-during-floridas-early-signing-day-press-conference/At least he complimented the guy on the question. Points for that. He also keeps repeating "this is a production business." At this point I feel like he's preparing for his post-firing presser.

We lost seven blue chippers at the deadline. The comment about assistants is reminiscent of Zook's comments at Illinois after two members of his first coaching staff there bailed before coaching a down at Illinois, presumably to save their careers.

Yeah , it’s nuts. Losses? What losses? We maybe lost 1 guy at those positions. Like what in the actual fuck is he talking about? Is he actually that stupid or does he just assume the fanbase is that stupid.

You see, if you keep a top secret extra special list of only the best players on your board that are obviously not just great players but great human beings and leaders, then you always get your top guys. You can’t lose anyone you didn’t really have on the “top secret bestest Florida fit” list.

Napier is technically right about us never having players who hadn't signed an NLI, but what the hell? When almost every meaningful recruit in a class flips at the deadline, it is indicative of a much deeper problem. Napier pretending that we didn't really want those players is pure bullshit.

Yeah under that definition I think only 2-3 schools have ever lost a kid because you have to appeal to NCAA to get out or get granted a release. The only one I can think of in recent memory is Rashada. That's why nobody with half a brain would ever define "losing" a recruit as having an NLI in hand. It's preposterous. He's an idiot who thinks all of the fans and media are even stupider than he is. It's really absurd.
