What record does Napier need to have to get year 4. Most places I have seen have said "a winning record" with about 30-40% saying 6-6 regular season would be okay "because of the schedule." It's laughable that a .500 regular season against any schedule would allow a guy who is the worst recruiter in the modern/Rivals era at UF to slide by with 6-6 in year 3, but whatever. I say 8-4 regular season. I don't care about the schedule, it's not going to get easier, you have Samford, Miami, and UCF as your non-FSU out of conference. If you're at a point where Miami and UCF in the Swamp are tough games that tells you all you need to know. The path to 8 wins really isn't that tough: Miami, Samford, UCF, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Kentucky and then 2 of the other 6 with LSU and Ole Miss at home and FSU possibly already having locked up a 12 team playoff spot.
I'm guessing the most common answer here will likely be 1.5 higher than the actual bar because Sasse doesn't seem to mind his top revenue producer being an embarrassment.

I hate to say it but I don’t think it will happen. 6 wins and he stays. I have my doubts.

For me, anything less than 8-4 is a clear indication that Napier will never get it done. This is the third year, meaning by extension that about 75 percent of the roster is players that he brought in. Zero excuses.

Are you asking where is the bar if I get to set it, or where do I think the bar is that SS cowbell has set?
For me, year 3 after Mulllen ..... 8-4, maybe 7-5 if you were really, really competitive in a few loses, but none of the loses can be to teams we are better than.
For SS cowbell ..... 6-6, just make a bowl game, any bowl game.

For SS cowbell ..... 6-6, just make a bowl game, any bowl game. I meant where should the bar be. The fact that Starkville Scotty has any input at this point much less final say is utterly preposterous. I don't think there's any way that SS fires him if given the choice. 5-7 with close losses OR if he starts Lagway for the FSU game (like Mullen feeding AR to the best CFB defense ever for his first start) in a game where they go in 4-7 then it's just a plan coming together. The DDD consists of: 1) a guy who insists on calling his own plays despite the fact that his one stint as an offensive playcaller at a real school resulted in him getting fired by his mentor and then parlayed 12 years of analyst, position coach, and Sunbelt wunderkind into having an apparent stranglehold on the head job at a destination school despite the worst results since World War 2. He is somehow a worse recruiter than McGoober, the shark humping death threat fabricating hillbilly, and Mullen the jackass who tried to fabricate NFL interest via planting false rumors in the media, did a post game press conference in costume after trying to stir up a halftime brawl, and admitted that he didn't like recruiting. He's a worse gameday coach than Ron Zook who tried to fight the Pike house on 13th Street. 2) the human cockroach who somehow survived giving a press conference where he said he would "never have extended" a coach who was abusing female athletes had he only been made aware of the situation and then days later emails being made public where he thanks multiple people for letting him know about the abuse. It's really really remarkable. The 24 presidential election has nothing on these two in terms of absurdity. Okay that might be an overstatement, but not by much.

If Zook can make a career out of 7-win seasons, and you can’t get one in three tries, GTFO.

No winning seasons, no top 10 recruiting classes, and an NCAA investigation. It's amazing that he's gotten a 3rd year, that makes us a mid-level SEC team, if we give him a 4th after similar results our transition to the bottom 3rd will be complete. In the SEC alone 3 recruiting classes outside the top 10 and 2 losing seasons would definitely not be tolerated at:
Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Texas, Oklahoma, probably Texas A&M
taking into account an offseason with no real substantive structural or coaching staff changes (and no making up random positions, titles, and departments does not count) would be a last straw at:
Auburn, Ole Miss, Tennessee, probably South Carolina and Missouri, better than 50/50 chance at Kentucky
A 3rd straight losing season becoming the UF coach since Josh Lady from 1936-1938 to register 3 straight losing seasons (and the first 4 year stretch in the 118 years that UF has fielded a football team) would result in termination at:
Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi State
So we're already in the bottom 3-5 just by virtue of signing off on year 3 of the same bullshit different day, if we are "okay" with 6-6 and a bowl loss that gets blamed on opt-outs it's just us and Vandy. That's where we're at. It's absurd.

Your counting us out in the bowl game pretty quick. I think we have a chance against those little homeless mix-breeds if we can just manage to get ourselves lined up for the Puppy Bowl.

A golden retriever would kick our asses. The puppy bowl is made up of shelter dogs, which pretty much summarizes our recruiting classes.
