The dude at Auburn will be lucky to last all season. A good friend of mine is an Auburn alum and that guys seat is more than a little warm.

I wonder if the AD at ASU has rooted out the people who were leaking inside info to other teams, in order to get Herm Edwards fired. Love your coach or hate him, that shit cannot stand.

A pretty unethical way to go about it. Don't know how I missed another coach likely to be gone, Karl Dorrell at Colorado. They are dreadful - and CSU is worse. Dorrell seemed like a desperation hire. It's not like he was wildly successful at UCLA.

Dorrell was just saying before the first game that they are good. “The prognosticators out there feel like we’re going to be at the very bottom of this conference,” he said. “I can tell you, I’ve got 110 guys in the back here and we’re going to be at the very top of this conference. We’ve got a lot to prove and we do feel we have the ability to do but it gives us motivation. It gives us some excitement about the future.” At this point, he's crafting his "wait till next year" speech, and it better be a doozy. RG

If that holds up, they will be 0-5 and 0-2 in the conference that they were "going to be at the very top of". They will be only two games away from bowl ineligibility with Oregon State, Oregon, USC, Washington and Utah left on the schedule. They have a shot against Arizona State and California.

Dorrell was fired today, along with the defensive coordinator. Arizona beat them 43-20.

The Bryan Harsin coaching death watch is officially under way. He needed a fluke turnover to beat Missouri in OT, and lost to LSU by four after not scoring at all in the second half. Georgia is up next, and after their close call at Missouri last week, they will be out to prove something.
Losing to Illinois at home by 24 and gaining two yards on the ground apparently gets you fired at Wisconsin.

Not sure if he gets fired this week, but the failed fake punt in the 2nd quarter pretty much ended the game today. It was a huge momentum shift in favor of Georgia and basically gave them points that Auburn could not afford to give up.

You think USF is talking to Scott Frost or did all the Nebraska stories make him to toxic?

You think USF is talking to Scott Frost or did all the Nebraska stories make him to toxic? They might. Frost may be one of those guys who does well at the Group of Five level, but is in over his head above that. Then again, he may just be lazy and confrontational and the stories out of Lincoln may have fried his future as a head coach.

Coach name of the year has to go to Charlotte with Biff Poggi. That's a football name.

A little surprised that UNLV fired Marcus Arroyo. The Rebels did win five games, but then they lost six straight after starting 4-1. Ironically, his last victory came Saturday in the rivalry game against Nevada - played for the second-most significant prize in the sporting world (behind the Bronze Stalk Trophy) - the Fremont Cannon.

Coach Prime Time Deion Sanders is kickin' ass and takin' names already at Colorado. This is worth the read. RG

Petrino is a real turd of a human being.... Bobby Petrino joins Jimbo Fisher at Texas A&M less than one month after accepting role at UNLV: report It was a big deal in the local media when he arrived. Apart from John Robinson years ago, UNLV football doesn't get anyone who you have heard of before. I was looking forward to seeing what he could get into in a city where almost anything goes. It was bound to be epic. When he first signed, my assumption was that nobody else had offered him a job. People don't usually come to UNLV to resurrect their careers. The program has a history of destroying them - although over the last five years or so, there has been a huge upgrade in facilities and in the university's investment in football. Now I get to watch him crash Jimbo Fisher's program - like it's possible to do that more thoroughly than Fishier did it himself a year ago.
