His stupid face on TV trying to talk his way into the playoffs with 2 losses. Shut up Nick. You didn’t even win your side of the SEC. Is Bama good? Of course. But you gotta win to be in buddy just like everyone else. I’m sick of this guy’s endless sniveling. Just shut up Nick.

Yup, Also say a 2 loss team were to be put in the playoffs over TCU (we know Ohio St is in) why should it be Bama?
Bama is 10-2 with losses to Tenn (10-2) and LSU (9-4)
Penn St is 10-2 with losses to 13-0 B1G Champion Michigan and 12-1 Ohio St (only loss is to Mich).
Both Mich and Ohio St will be playoff teams
Penn St is the 10-2 team who should get into the playoffs IF a 2 loss team is chosen, not Bama

Meh, I'm fine with Bama not getting in, and Saban politicking is nails on a chalkboard, but make no mistake about it this is pure SEC fatigue and kind of bullshit if the intent is actually to put the 4 best teams in the playoff. Does anybody actually think TCU is a better football team than Alabama? Or Ohio State? Same question for Penn State. And USC. As far as Bama and Ohio State personally I think Bama has the better resume but I see that argument. Two last play losses at Rival schools in the SEC is a better case than getting thumped on your home turf. TCU's most impressive win is against Kansas State at home and they turned around and lost to them on a "neutral" field that was decidedly pro Texas. I saw where they "beat more teams that were ranked at the time," but that's the rankings own dumbass fault by putting big 12 teams in the top 25. If you just look at what teams do outside of their conference, it kind of tells the story, we beat the Pac 12 champion and UGA beat Oregon by 45. I can't find an impressive out of conference win for the entire big 12. Not talking about TCU, I'm talking about the entire conference. Ohio State beat Notre Dame I guess. Where is one out of conference team putting it on a team that is in the top half of the SEC standings? You can't find it. Same with Big 10 but less pronounced.
I just can't reconcile what they say with what they do. Don't say it's the 4 best teams and then put in one team that is clearly inferior. Don't say strength of schedule matters when TCU's out of conferences games were with Colorado, SMU, and Tarleton State. Don't say you add context to losses when a loss to the #1 team in the country on the last play and an overtime loss at a place nobody wins at night on a 2 point conversion count twice as much as getting your shit pushed in at home in a "must win" game. Don't say timing of losses matters and then put in 2 teams that lost their last game.
They're obviously trying to avoid another Alabama-Georgia final and didn't flip TCU and Ohio State because they don't want the rematch in the semi-finals. Without Bryce Young Alabama is maybe a .500 team this year, but with him healthy they probably have the best shot at beating Georgia. The SEC got screwed this year any way you look at it, because even if you agree with the 4, Georgia has to play the most talented team in while Michigan gets what should be a bye. If it wasn't for Ryan Day being a douchenozzle I'd say the Peach Bowl is for the title.
To the extent it matters for Florida, which is really all I care about, the anti-SEC bias is troubling. If they're going to measure SEC teams' record with the same barometer as they do other power 5 conferences, despite all evidence to the contrary, and keep trying to limit the "overexposure" of SEC teams to make the 12 team play-off you're going to have to be one of the top 4 teams in the SEC. That's a huge hill to climb, and it's not fair.

I guess FSU beating LSU in the season opener is the signature loss for the SEC. point stands though.

I’m definitely suffering from Saban fatigue. I agree in principle with everything you said above Taps.

I agree Taps. The media and average sports fans (not true CFB fans) want to come up with the most ridiculous reasons to keep SEC teams out and act as if college schedules, divisions and divisions are equal, which they are not.
I posted on another area here about how the 12 team playoff still wont favor the SEC as the % of SEC teams will be reduced compared to the current set up. It is typical for the SEC or B1G to get 2 teams in the playoffs (50% of participants) however it would be highly unlikely that you'll see 6 playoff teams from one conference in a 12 team format. Thats when the non CFB die hard mob will start getting their pitchforks ready on the internet. The 12 team playoff is going to reward lesser conference champions and 1 loss teams from lesser conferences over2 loss SEC teams.
Utah is the B2B PAC 12 Champs and couldn't beat the B1G runner up in their bowl game nor could they beat a 6-6 Gator team. USC is the media darlings this year and they beat a bunch of chumps and lost to Utah twice.
Clemson is 11-2 and their only losses are to non ACC teams (ND & SC). UNC is the ACC runner up and they almost lost to App St, almost lost to scUM, lost to ND and lost to GT.
TCU's best teams theyve played this year were TX (1 score win) and KSt (1-1, both close games)
Tulane would be given a playoff spot in a 12 team playoff as well.
These are the kind of programs the media and non CFB fans would want in the playoffs over a 9-4 LSU and 10-2 Tenn (especially w/o HHooker)
I really wish the SEC would just pull away from the CFB playoff committee
