In no particular order
Home games Miami Samford Central Florida Kentucky LSU Ole Miss Texas A&M
Neutral site Georgia
Road games Florida State Mississippi State Tennessee Texas
Without a lot of imagination, I could see us losing every home game except Samford, losing to Georgia, and losing every road game except Mississippi State.

It's a tough slog for sure. I could actually see W's over Miami, Samford and UCF at the top, maybe UK. MSU and maybe Texas on the road. So if Billy goes 6-7, 5-7, 5-7, you think he keeps his job after that? Lots of people are saying "give it time, blah blah blah". I don't see him getting tossed this year, but after 3 years of sub .500 ball, how can you keep that job? Anybody, not just him.

I believe that he is gone if there is another losing season. I don't see the big donors standing for it.
This highly touted incoming recruiting class is already beginning to fragment, and I am interested to see how many current players hit the transfer portal.

You know it’s over when people are making excuses for future losses. There is nothin about that that says “winning culture.”

BTW, I can also see a 2-10 result as a real possibility. A REAL POSSIBILITY. Which is of course, grounds for immediate dismissal, of both HBC and the AD. Time will tell. Time will certainly tell.

BTW, I can also see a 2-10 result as a real possibility. A REAL POSSIBILITY. Which is of course, grounds for immediate dismissal, of both HBC and the AD. Time will tell. Time will certainly tell. I'm not being pessimistic when I say that we could lose every home game except Samford and every road game except Mississippi State. I'm being pragmatic. I can really see all of that materializing. We have no discipline or situational awareness, apart from Etienne we have little in the way of skill position players, and a highly touted incoming recruiting class is dwindling with each passing loss. The transfer portal could easily do as much damage or more than the recruiting losses. We have a freaking analyst running special teams (and I'm not forgetting the player whose responsibility it is to send the field goal team out when he hears the magic word) even though they have been a catastrophe all season. We have a head coach who reminds me of Zook in some respects and Muschamp in others - the latter who frequently said "We will get it fixed", without specifying what "it" was in more than the broadest general terms, and no stated ideas or plans about how said fix was to take place. For all of Napier's talk about accountability, I see dammed little of it in our head coach. When things go wrong, he goes Shane Beamer on us and calls out players. It's never play calling, strategy or preparation. Things would have worked perfectly had the players just learned how to properly execute (the Zookian portion of my flashbacks). It's execution, not us repeatedly running into the teeth of the Florida State defense, when we couldn't move the ball in the second half. It reminded me of the senseless play calling in the Oregon State game here a year ago. In this aspect Napier shows Zook-like stubbornness in establishing the running game, no matter how poor the results. FSU just stacked the box and pressured the passer, knowing that they could grab any running back on the way to the quarterback if a handoff happened. We ran headlong into a blitz multiple times.

He's on a mission to prove what worked in the Sunbelt will work in the SEC. It won't and if it was going to he wouldn't be the guy to do it. He's an embarrassment. Stricklin is the real problem. As long as he's got the wheel I don't see us having any success in Football. Basketball would be a long shot, but it's easier to overcome poor support when you've got 12 scholarships instead of 84.
The other problem is the fanbase. As a whole it's somewhere between delusional and apathetic. Mention that changes should be made and you're "spoiled" and "that's why we're losing recruits, the negativity online." I don't know how you can look at the worst stretch of football in 76 years that is continuing to get worse and not think anything needs to change without being completely and utterly delusional. When your coach says "What are we talking about?" to a question about discipline following a game where you got 4 personal foul type penalties and 2 ejections, which honestly should have been 3 because they should have ejected both guys for targeting, and you just roll with it or get shouted down by the masses because for some reason we like Billy Napier. It's really the damndest thing and a helluva case study if someone was ever inclined in how we go from the premier program in the country to this in 12-14 years without some sort of sanctions from the NCAA.
There were a lot of warning signs coming into this season. Somehow each and every one of them has gotten worse. And, the solution is going to be another year of Graham Mertz. When Montrell Johnson announces he's returning for his senior season that will be a deal. Austin Armstrong was probably just growing pains. Best case RDB gets a yes man at OC, but no real coordinator (on either side of the ball) is signing on to work for a guy on a sinking ship who clearly doesn't want them. I heard how Napier has great connections in the coaching field when he was hired, but we don't have one assistant outside of maybe Raymond (whose unit has had a dog shit year) who would be in a collateral position at any other destination school.

We're "spoiled" because we don't want more of the same after three consecutive losing seasons? I guess that we're Vanderbilt now.
I saw one fan who bragged about Napier's recruiting. Really? Where is it? If we're lucky, maybe the next Desmond Watson is already in the pipeline - a kid at 380 who they can have up to 450 by the season opener.

We had him but lost him, probably to Georgia from the looks of it where he'll probably do something silly like lose 30 lbs and become Jordan Davis rather than gaining 60 (and counting from the looks of it) and becoming a cult hero amongst writers that know nothing about football and/or don't watch anything but the ball. 247sports.com/Player/michai-boireau-46115014/In other exciting news, we're getting a couple guys on campus this weekend! They'll get to see the new facilities which is probably the one thing we've gotten right in the last 4 years and have an unobstructed view since nobody will be doing anything to distract them like getting ready for a bowl game and practicing football. It's good, I think we want kids who like to be challenged by using their imaginations. gatorswire.usatoday.com/2023/11/27/florida-football-recruiting-weekend-visitors-december/"I want you to picture yourself in a Florida Gators uniform. Now I want you to add 85 other players and 45 staffers and pretend that we're getting ready for a super duper important bowl game. There's Desmond eating 25 hotdogs, there's Montrell Johnson, love that guy told everybody he could do it, who is #3 and why is he running so fast?, I can't see Montrell, hey 3 get away from Montrell he's doing it just like when we were Ragin Cajuns!, there's Gutsy Graham Mertz working on his check downs, there's Austin Armstrong jumping up and down and jiggling all over the place because he's excited, wait who's that guy talking to the special teams, he doesn't look like a player, get him out of your vision, we don't have time for that, now that's better, there I am drawing up the old double TE reverse triple option flea flicker that we can use if we're up 12-0. That's a deal there. Right? Hey where did you go............"

2 - 10 next year if we can beat Samford and Miss State.
L's against Miami, UCF and FSU.
The University of Florida! We are the Gators, the mighty mighty Gators!

I *think* the full schedule comes out tonight. Fingers crossed. Just seems awfully late, but I guess adding 2 teams will do that. RG

Well, let’s hope we draw either Southern Miss or Louisiana Monroe from the West. I really don’t think it would be good to have to face Troy or another bowl contender. We need all the easy games we can get as we rebuild next season.

There’s an SEC schedule reveal show on SEC network at 7pm eastern tonight. Should make for some riveting television. I’ll just look it up in the morning when I get to the office.

(I threw up in my mouth a little while typing this. I am now closing my office door so no one can see me crying) I just looked at the schedule (I will post it later). The two games that we should win fall within the first four games of the season - meaning that if my fears are realized, we will lose eight straight to close out the season. The Gators go to Austin the week after the Georgia beatdown.

We need all the easy games we can get as we rebuild next season. So I completely misunderstood what was going on and thought they were releasing our new Sunbelt schedule for 2024. Unfortunately, we will still be in the SEC East, and I thought it was going to be rough playing the likes of James Madison, App State, Coastal Carolina, and Old Dominion.

There's going to be a lot of roster changes for all these teams prior to start of the season, but this is my thoughts as of today.
Aug. 31 – Miami, Win. Unless they land the Ohio St QB, Fla will have the better QBs and Mia is losing 4 out of theier 5 best defenders. Sept. 7 – Samford, Win. Squash Match Sept. 14 – Texas A&M. Win. only bc its in The Swamp and early in Mike Elko era Sept. 21 – at Miss State. Win, they aren't as good as Fla and its early in the Jeff Lebby era. Sept. 28 – Bye Oct. 5 – UCF, Win. UCF isn't on Fla's level, game in The Swamp and they have a bye to prepare better.
AND NOW COMES THE NAPIER LANDSLIDE
Oct. 12 – at Tennessee, Loss. Game in Rocky Top, Tenn QB entering RS fresh year/year 2 under JHuepel. Tenn wins Oct. 19 – Kentucky, Loss. Until Fla starts beating KY again, i wont pick em. Oct. 26 – Bye Nov. 2 – Georgia (in Jacksonville), Loss, Enough said Nov. 9 – at Texas, Loss, TX has been stacking talent, is better coached and game is in TX. Nov. 16 – LSU, Loss, Fla has lost 7 of the last 9 vs LSU. No. 23 – Ole Miss, Loss, at Ole Miss, Lane Kiffin will run it up Nov. 30 – at Florida State, Loss, Fla probably has an interim HC by this point.

I doubt we beat Miami, they'll have more talent and as bad a coach as Mario is on gameday that's probably a push. It is at home so maybe, I think it will come down to who does better in the portal. I'd be pretty shocked if Graham Mertz is the more talented QB in that game although he will certainly be the more experienced so early in the season he has an edge although they need to figure out something on the offensive line. A&M feels like the one that we get that we probably shouldn't (Utah in 22 and Tennessee last year), UCF I just feel like we're going to shit the bed and that may be the end of the line for RDB. I have no idea who they could give an interim tag to on this staff, and Stricklin loves to leave guys on to finish the season which of course is idiotic because you get a mass exodus even before the portal. So Stricklin being an idiot will leave him in place "for recruiting and continuity." I still have no idea how Starkville Scott has a job.

Zero chance that we start off 5-0.

Starting 5-0 and then finishing 5-7 would for sure be the final coffin nail, but I have to agree with Mo, I don't see a 5-0 start. Heck earlier in this thread I said 2-10 and sadly, I'm not sure that I'm fully ready to back off that yet.
