This is pretty decent news.I guess there wasn’t quite as big a bidding war for gutsy Graham as evidently is going on for etienne per multiple reports. The whole hemorrhaging NIL value as the season went on and it became clearly that we were going to stick to a 55-45 split of touches between him and the “starter” probably isn’t helping.

The more I think about this and read public perception the less I like it. We're going to have to watch another season of dink and dunk, but this time without Etienne and Pearsall, as (potentially) the next Anthony Richardson wears a headset and watches aren't we?
Even if Mertz plays as well as he did this year where he didn't turn it over and threw underneath prevent defenses like a champ we'll still wind up with empty stats, no big plays, and a losing record. 14 completions of 30+ yards. 13th in the SEC (15th next year). With Pearsall and Etienne. Mostly screens and about 90% of that was YAC. I don't know how we have Lagway so solid and I don't want to know I just want him to sign, but if he sits a year behind Graham Mertz with no real OC? Gotta wonder if he's going to stay regardless of whether it's Napier or a new coach in 25.
It's not Gutsy Graham the check down man's fault, I'm actually glad he's coming back and if I had any confidence whatsoever that RDB was going to hire an OC with any kind of resume, allow him autonomy in personnel decisions and QB coaching, and completely turnover play calling, all things that his first 2 years SCREAM he should do, I'd be thrilled that GGTCDM was coming back as a safety net. I think that an actual OC would also pursue a somewhat proven guy or just a better athlete and have a real life Quarterback Competition in the Spring. If Mertz wins that and we open up the playbook I'm all for it. If it's just more of the same next year is going to suck

That is spectacular. I think I'm going to look at Gator Football as comic relief for the foreseeable future. Keep em. Keep em all. No new offensive coordinator or approach, Tits McJiggles stays in place and on the Desmond Watson meal plan, more word of the day calendar pressers, all of it.

I guess I am confused as to why an announcement was necessary. Just show up to Spring camp as expected.

It will make us giddy with excitement even though Trevor Etienne leaves for a rival.
