This is pretty typical for me. The upsets that I was reasonably sure about didn't happen, and the ones that I decided not to pull the trigger on happened. I literally had Oakland over Kentucky, and right at the end I thought, no, I can't do it. Bought off on McNeese, and they got crushed.

You have to hand it to CWT. He has his 70+ glorified interns drinking the Kool-Aid. I wish I could live in a bubble where the history of the sport of football was limited to only what has been accomplished in the Sunbelt conference from 2017-2021. They really think they are working on the greatest staff ever assembled, and it is sad. As if 70+ interns were not enough, we just increased our football recruiting budget from $1.6 M to $2.9M. Since it is not NIL money then explain to me how this big spending will entice competitive athletes to play for a losing team that has not shown any history of " coaching up" their players. Because, well. It is a thing. A deal, right there. Because when you look at it, well, recruiting is the life blood, and that is, well, you know. Athletes can see that, and they just know.

Does a repeat of 5-7 get him another year? Because realistically that is what we are looking at. Of course it does. Because of the schedule. Football is hard. If he gets another year after a fourth consecutive losing season, I'm done following this program until somebody wakes up.

Right out of the chute I was tied for first. Now, tied for second, which is also tied for second-to-the-last. I expect my bracket to progress in a manner similar to Coach Billy's UF football tenure. Probably worse. Last place is mine, and you can't have it. So there.

"What we've elected to do for the guys looking to lose weight is decrease their food intake and increase their metabolic output. Muscle weighs more than fat!" You can't get knowledge like this just anywhere. That's expert level stuff right there.

One thing that might reel it in: Limit portal transfers to one, apart from urgent family or medical situations. If a player transfers again, he or she must sit out a year if doing so. Do not open the portal until every game has been played for a particular sport. There also needs to be an agreed-upon cap for NIL distributions to a single athlete. If an NIL distribution is other than cash, an independent panel should determine the approximate monetary value of it. Prohibit NIL agreements prior to an athlete enrolling at a school.

South Regional, #7 seed, facing the winner of Boise State and Colorado.
They may be done before it starts. Center Micah Handlogten broke his leg in the first half of the SEC title game against Auburn, which likely had a major impact on the outcome.

My understanding about NIL is that it is intended to literally compensate players for the use of their name, image and likeness in advertising and merchandise sales (jerseys, covers of and presence in video games, television and print advertising, etc.). In effect, it is none of these. Players are being signed to paid contracts to play for certain schools, which is not my impression of what it is supposed to be.

As if athletes weren't entitled enough already, along comes NIL. Maryland head coach Mike Locksley said that a third string running back came to him and told him that he would hit the transfer portal unless he got $100,000.

Which he will use to hire a third offensive line coach (we don't have a coach for centers yet), and a Supreme Executive Defensive Head Coach. We need an overseer for the overseer who oversees the DC.

You can add that he has also adopted Muschamp's offense, which works just as well now as it did then. When we aren't running up the middle, we're throwing five yard sideline patterns. I said this then, and it is just as true today: A defensive coordinator could put all 11 guys within 5-7 yards of the line of scrimmage and stop 95 percent of what we run. In other words, he possesses the exact opposite of the qualities that are representative of the Gators' brand of football. It is the classic conservative approach that keeps you in just enough games that people start to believe in the facade that you were only a couple plays away from winning big. While, in reality, we never really had a chance. It also greatly reduces the margin of error for the defense. When you aren't scoring points and you never have more than a seven point lead, you are always just one big play away from being tied or behind.

Two questions: 1) Does he have a dip in? 2) How much are we paying this kid? This is preposterous. I had not actually seen him, seems like a nice enough guy who would make a great wingman hit the bars with when you were 25. God, that was incoherent.

He's dumber than Zook, more stubborn than Mullen, and worse with the media than McGoober. He's a perfect storm. Of bullshit. You can add that he has also adopted Muschamp's offense, which works just as well now as it did then. When we aren't running up the middle, we're throwing five yard sideline patterns. 464 and 374 are "questionable" as suitable playing weights? They could only stop the run if a running back ran headlong into them and fell over.

Having been around in the early days of FireRonZook.com, I know the mentality well. You're not a "real" Gator fan unless you're all in on whoever the head coach is. No negative comments allowed, even if they refer to obvious flaws and mistakes. The hypocrisy can be staggering after it's over. I was kicked off Gator Country for literally saying that Zook wasn't the best man for the job. After Zook was fired, boy, it was open season. I saw more negative comments on GC than I saw on FRZ, a board that was created to allow people to vent because boards like GC didn't allow it.

I am supposed to believe that someone at Vanderbilt had to be bribed to throw games? I am also supposed to believe that organized crime had no better way to make money than to fix Vandy football games, and that in order to accomplish this, they approached a quarterback who threw 17 passes in his entire career for the Commodores.

Also remember, just like most of these reporters, you can count the voices in your head as "sources". I doubt that some reporters have sources beyond what they pull out of their own asses. They are careful not to even hint at the identity of such sources, because they either lack credibility or don't exist.

Watson's weight gain is frightening. I looked up his recruiting profile, and he is listed at 6'5", 315. This means that he has gained 150 pounds since signing.
He was apparently very highly thought of during recruiting. He was offered by Alabama, Florida Atlantic, Florida State, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Miami, Michigan, Mississippi State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Rutgers, South Florida, Tennessee, Central Florida, Toledo and West Virginia.

The number of plays of 30+ yards directly refutes Napier's claim of "a bunch of explosive plays". We were that bad with Piersall and Etienne. Subtract them and we have what, Dre Wilson? If he is smart, he will hit the portal as well.
